Pebble Smartwatches

NEWS > It is with regret that I can confirm the sale of Pebble to Fitbit. Fitbit acquire Pebble - Dec 7th 2016

Two years before anyone had heard of Google’s Android Wear smartwatches or even the now famous Apple Watch, there was Pebble. The Pebble watch was designed by Eric Migicovsky creating a wearable tech device that could display message alerts from a smartphone. Released on Kickstarter in April 2012, Pebble raised an outstanding ,266,845 in just 30 days, at the time the most funded project on Kickstarter.

With the sale of Pebble to Fitbit I cannot recommend buying a Pebble watch. They will be unsupported and no further development will take place.

If you take your training seriously and want your smartwatch to include wrist based heart rate, built-in GPS and internal memory storage for your music there are a several other watches to consider. For the Android users I recommend the Polar M600 or the Motorola Moto 360 Sport. The M600 and Moto 360 Sport are both built on Android Wear providing access to dozens of dedicated fitness apps like Strava and Endomondo. For iPhone users I recommend the Apple Watch 2 Nike+

A Brief History…

It all started in 1996. As a sports science student I wanted to promote the use of Heart Rate Monitors in exercise. The business went online in 1999. In 14 years we sold HRM's to over 300,000 customers.

After a short retail back we're now back with the new online store selling ONLY Polar. We still offer impartial advice & test other heart rate monitor brands. Our aim however, is to introduce you to Polar's products as an alternative to Garmin, Fitbit, Suunto or TomTom.
