Next Model Up

If you are looking at the next model up then you are probably looking at shifting up from “fun runner” to “competitive runner”. If that’s the case we’d recommend either the Forerunner 230 or Forerunner 235 with off the wrist hear rate technology. However, if you are content with the functionality of this model then you may be pleased to know there is now a Forerunner 35. This newer model has the same functionality as the FR25 with the convenience of wrist based heart rate and a more stylish design.

Forerunner 35  with wrist based heart rate – same functions as this model

Forerunner 230  a technical running watch with full colour display (chest strap HR)

Forerunner 235  one of the best GPS running watches – for the competitive runner

Next Model Down

The next model down would be the Forerunner 15. The 15 does NOT have any Bluetooth connectivity so no smart notifications and no data download to the Garmin Connect APP.

Forerunner 15  USB cable for data upload and no smartphone notification alerts

An Alternative GPS Running Watch from Polar ….

If you are considering this Garmin Forerunner watch then we would invite you to read the review of the Polar M400. The Polar M400 is, in our opinion, the BEST GPS RUNNER’S watch on the market. It has all the PERFORMANCE tracking features you would expect from a competent runner’s watch, plus, a wealth of Training Load and Training Benefit feedback to help you better understand the training effect of each session and the predicted time required before you are fully recovered. It also features a reliable and well researched/accurate Fitness Test that can be conducted once or twice a month to keep track of your general fitness improvement (based on RR intervals and HRV) … Just like the Forerunner 25 it’s also an activity tracker, sleep monitor and it’s smartphone connected for incoming alerts …  plus it supports DOZENS of sports profiles, not JUST running.

A Brief History…

It all started in 1996. As a sports science student I wanted to promote the use of Heart Rate Monitors in exercise. The business went online in 1999. In 14 years we sold HRM's to over 300,000 customers.

After a short retail back we're now back with the new online store selling ONLY Polar. We still offer impartial advice & test other heart rate monitor brands. Our aim however, is to introduce you to Polar's products as an alternative to Garmin, Fitbit, Suunto or TomTom.
