What's great about this unit is it's ease of use and the fact that it comes with a PC link and the software is freely downloadable from Garmin.com Good features, 1) Ability to "TracBack" a previously laid biscuit trail route. Your Garmin Foretrex 201 will automatically leave a biscuit trail while you walk/trek. If you want to track backwards, back to the start, over the same route, then the "tracback" feature allows this.. 2) The Garmin Foretrex 201 ability to give latitude and longitude in many different standards, including UK Ordnance Survey. This allows the user to enter manual destination waypoints directly from an OS map. 3) The Garmin Foretrex 201 allows the user to pre-plan a route. The route can be made from up to 125 waypoints. The waypoints can be either previsited waypoints (stored in memory) or waypoints entered using lat/long information taken from a map. Technology is moving fast and Garmin are at the cutting edge. This unit is easy to use, highly accurate and even internally upgradable via PC downloads, if required. We give it a very good 9/10 |
