Timex Fitness Tracker System - with sensitive step counter / pedometer
Timex's series of product designed to monitor speed and distance currently uses pedometer and accelerometer technology to gauge distance travelled over a period of time, therefore speed or pace. The steps, speed, distance data is passed to the wrist unit using a WIRELESS radio link - so NO WIRES between the two units....
The Timex Fitness Tracker series offers an ideal opportunity to monitor speed, distance and pace, at walking, jogging or running intensities by way of a wireless waist mounted pod, transmitting the data to the 50 lap sports watch for the display of speed, distance and pace.
Note: The Timex Fitness Tracker requires individual calibration prior to use at each of the intensities it is intended to be used for i.e. running, jogging and walking. While automatic calibration will be reasonably accurate we always advise manual calibration to fine tune the system.

Timex Fitness Tracker is ideal for walkers and joggers who simply want to know - how far they've walked / ran - how many steps they've taken and how many calories they've burnt. Easy to use and accurate enough for the casual / recreational exerciser. If you want more than 95% accuracy - then we would recommend a FOOT POD style (more expensive) unit like the Garmin FR60 or Suunto T3C with FOOT POD or Polar RS300X (approx twice the price)
While exercising the user has live view of: STEPS taken, STEPS remaining to complete daily target, SPEED (kmh or mph), PACE, CALORIES, DURATION of session and DISTANCE (km or miles)
