Timex Data
Recorders - T54101 and 5G751 - Timex Data Loggers
These units are
compatible with the new Timex Data Recorder (data logger). With this
unit you can record your heart rate data and download it to PC, via
USB connection. The Timex Bodylink Data logger (data recorder) is only
3cm wide and easily clips on to your clothes. A great way to record
your training sessions in to the training diary.
There are two
models available. The 5C401 is the version 1, the 5G751 is the version
2. The version 2 has enhanced "3D" functionality, providing
altitude,
elevation, latitude, longitude, ascent and descent data. The 5C401 version
1 model does not include altimetric data, just heart rate, time, speed
and distance. To benefit from the features of the 5G751, the user MUST
have the latest GPS 3D arm unit, as supplied with the 5G311 Bodylink
female and 5C391 Trail Runner

Important
note: When used outside,
suburban residential, on water, away from dense tree cover, with clear
view of the sky, these GPS units are highly recommended. However, if you
are training in an area with a lot of obscured sky, for example
in a major city, London, Manchester etc, we would be cautious in recommending
the use of the Garmin / Navman / Timex GPS type SDM's due to potential
weak GPS signal from tall building shadowing. If the majority of your
time training is between tall buildings (4 storey or more) on both sides,
then it is possible you will suffer loss of satellite signal and the units'
accuracy may be compromised. If this is the case, please consider a unit
that uses FOOT POD technology like the Polar RS200SD or Suunto T6. Click
here for the results of our Garmin
Forerunner test in the Sandringham Forest. The new Garmin 205/305
GPS offer a great improvement over the older 201/301, however, we would
still recommend a FOOT POD unit if the majority of your running is in
a built up area / city.
BHIP
Ltd cannot accept a unit back for refund if it's "failure" is
due only to the training environment unless it is in 100% as new condition,
including all packaging. If you are training around a "normal"
suburban town with 2 - 3 storey buildings either side of the streets,
you should be fine. The clearer view of the sky, the higher the level
of accuracy. Please bear this in mind the first time you test the unit.
