SUUNTO
X6HRT (Titanium)
Suunto X6HRT
(Titanium) – even more accurate information on your performance
Who is it for :
The X6HRT (Titanium) is for the discerning user who appreciates TOTAL
QUALITY. The unit is a sophisticated out door watch / heart rate monitor.
The Suunto X6HRT is the FLAGSHIP of the Suunto range of wrist computers.
Suunto X6HRT (Heart Rate Monitor) is a combined altimeter - barometer
- compass and a heart rate monitor, which comes with the new Suunto
transmitter belt. Suunto X6HRT is a perfect tool for any endurance athlete
who wants to improve his/her training. It offers a unique combination
of three functional dimensions: it gives the user essential information
instantly during the performance. A level of deeper understanding comes
with the PC interface. It also opens a door to an Internet community
where endurance sports enthusiasts worldwide can share and acquire information
with and from other users of Suunto’s latest wristop computer generation.
For example mountain bikers, runners, adventure racers and cross-country
skiers will be able to get more out of their training by using Suunto
X6HRT. Knowing the impact of the altitude to one’s heart rate will help
keeping the performance on a right exertion level in all conditions.
Suunto X6HRT is controlled with an easy-to-use menu-based user interface
familiar from mobile phones. In addition to heart rate and altitude,
Suunto X6HRT gives information on e.g. vertical speed, compass bearing
and barometric pressure. They all are topics of interest for everyone
who wants to enjoy the outdoor experience to the maximum. For example
the chronometer records altitude and heart rate profile and the logbook
keeps track of how many hills user has ascended during the day and tells
the vertical sum of them. This information can be checked instantly
and the profile can be seen on the wrist display or later on a PC.
Suunto Activity Manager -software links Suunto X6HRT to a PC and makes
it easy to visualise for example mountain biking routes and heart rate
profiles and finally, to analyse the training data. It offers an exciting
view on the recorded data for all endurance sports enthusiasts. It is
a great tool for keeping a training diary and creating own activity
reports by adding photos and text to the visualised profiles.

OWNERS COMMENTS © BHIP Ltd 2004 :
A few technical features that we noticed are (Same goes for Suunto X6HRM
and X6HR):
-
The altitude resolution of the Suunto X6HRT is 1m. The Advizor and
Metron is 5m
-
The Suunto X6HRT allows an unlimited number of stopwatch split times
to be added to memory. The Advizor and Metron allow 30
-
The X6HRT has a selectable HR sample rate of 2s, 10s and 60s. At 2
seconds the X6HR can store 22 hours of data, including Altitude etc.
This is a very high sample rate. The Polar S610 / S710 sample down
to 5 seconds. We only have two models with a higher resolution, the
Polar S810 and Suunto T6 that can store individual Heart Beats.
-
The PC interface was easy to load on our Win 2000 and XP systems and
the interface, via COM port, is effeSerial COM port.
Download is very quick, about 30 secs for 1 hour data file.
- One
of the things that impressed us most with the Suunto X6HRT is the
ease of navigation from such a technical unit.
The watch is a lot smaller than other Suunto models.
We always do our best to help you make the right decision. Please
note, we do not recommend this watch for customers with a wrist circumference
less than 16cm.

- SAM : Suunto Activity Manager software:
PC
interface software + cable, uses serial COM port interface. The
PC software, SAM, Suunto Activity Manager does everything it should.
It even allows you to overlay one session on top of another for
comparison (or multiple sessions if required). The SAM allows you
to "zoom in" on particular parts of your training session
to give more precise information.
- Full access to Suuntosports.com. This site allows you to compare
(show off) your data with other Suunto watch owners. You can also
join various outdoor interest user groups (i.e extreme snowboarders)

determined by preset sample rate, 2 sec, 10 sec, 60 sec etc/.
heart
rate limits alarm, manually set.
interval
reminder. Two x auto repeating interval timers. These can be used
for interval timing eg. activity 10 mins, 2 mins rest, or similar.
This timer can be started during the stopwatch activity. For example, the
user may start the stopwatch, to start recording HR data and altitude
data, while warming up. Then, when ready, the user set the interval
timer to "ON" to activate one, or both interval timers.
An example of this in use would be 15 mins warm up with stopwatch
only running. Then activate the INTERVAL option to give 10 mins
effort and 2 mins recovery x 5 times, then set the INTERVAL option
OFF to stop the interval alarms but maintain the stopwatch running
and recording HR data.
HUGE
internal memory capacity for different recording intervals 4h20m/2s,
22h/10s, 133h/60s.
Heart
Rate transmission is analogue FM. This means the X6HRT will interface
with most popular gym/CV equipment. It does not use a method of
crosstalk avoidance but this is only an issue if other HRM users'
chest straps are within 1m of your wrist unit. This transmission
method is similar to that used in most Polar A and F series, CardioSport,
Reebok, CicloSport etc.
