A technically superior runners heart rate monitor. This unit is great for the athlete who likes to plan interval sessions in the watch with warm up periods and repeated intervals, either time based or heart rate based. If there is one criticism of this unit, it is a bit tricky to get used to the navigation. However, once you get over this hurdle it is a great heart rate monitor.
This watches has endurance training programmes, with preset recovery run (30 mins), long run (60 mins) medium run (50 mins) and own run (self set time and HR zone), also features, time spent within 3 x heart rate zones, 7 x training sessions in memory, recovery timer, % of heart rate (as well as BPM)... all for under £95.00 - FANTASTIC VALUE - highly recommended by BHIP Ltd testers. 9.5/10

- IAT - Individual Anaerobic Threshold - if you know you own anerobic lactate threshold, this unit allows the user to enter that heart rate threshold. This can then be used to reference time spent above IAT per session (note; if IAT is used, the 3 x HR zones is disabled, generally, we found it best to keep IAT disabled, except on specific fitness testing runs)
- Endurance Training : 4 x settings of ; LONG - RECOVERY - MEDIUM and OWN. In each setting there is a period of warm up, exercise and cool down, at various %'s of max HR. For example, the LONG RUN is 60 mins at 55-70% max, or 70-80% IAT. The user can set their own preference in the setting "OWN"
- Interval Training : There are 3 modes : Extensive, Intensive and OWN. In Extensive mode, there is a 10 min warm up, Interval for 4 mins (85-90% Max HR or 97-107% IAT) then recovery down to 70% of max HR (80% of IAT) then repeat Intervals. When the session is over, there is a 10 min cool down (60-75% max HR / 80-93% IAT) - in OWN mode the user sets optional warm up, interval time and heart rate zone (%max HR or % IAT and optional cool down)
- 3 x heart rate training zones. This unit does not try to keep the user in ONE zone, instead, it bleeps to warn when you have moved from ZONE1 to ZONE 2 to ZONE 3. It is "different" to most other HRMs, but it works well. 1 long bleep; entering zone 1, 2 long bleeps; entering zone 2, 3 long bleeps; entering zone 3 etc.
- Heart Rate as BPM or % of predicted (or known) maximum heart rate.
- 4OTHER training modes (if you are not using Intervals or Enduarance) - FREE mode - LAPS mode - MARATHON mode
- In FREE MODE, the user can view - actual heart rate (BPM or %), total time, average heart rate, highest heart rate, calories burnt, time of day - PLUS graphical display of your heart rate within the 3 x HR zones (normally 55-70%, 70-80% and 80-100% of max HR, these can be self set or auto set)
- at end of FREE session user can recall - % and time in HR zones, average heart rate, maximum heart rate, calories and exercise time
- In LAPS MODE, as above plus the ability to save a lap/split marker. The display flashes the previous lap time for 5 seconds
- at end of LAPS session user can recall - % and time in HR zones, average heart rate, maximum heart rate, calories and exercise time - PLUS best lap, and average and maximum lap heart rate per lap.
- In MARATHON MODE the user should press the LAP (NEXT) button each time they press a roadside lap marker.
- at end of PROGRAMME session user can recall - % and time in HR zones (or over / under IAT), average heart rate, maximum heart rate, best km/mile time, average km/mile time, time per km/mile.
- Backlight
- USER change batteries in both watch and transmitter.
- Water resistant to 10m - as with ALL DIGITAL heart rate monitors - do not expect an HR reading when in the water / swimming
- This is a very technical HRM. We suggest you might want to check the USER MANUAL online before buying from BHIP Ltd.
