S520 Heart Rate Monitor : Designed with cyclists in mind,
the Polar S520 represents a serious all rounder. Adding
to the Polar S410 with user specific cycling features, the
Polar S520 represents a precision tool for the up and coming
athlete. The monitor stores one exercise file for analysing
information and five files with limited information. Notable
exercise sessions and specific lap information can also
be recorded. It will also ensure the memory is sufficient
for storing all of your exercise information.
In the training functions option you are guided through
the interval sections automatically meaning ease of use
and increased control over your routine. Optional recovery
rates are also a feature of this most advanced monitor.
Storage and analyse of information for future use is also
possible with the Polar S520 and with the Polar speed sensor,
this monitor is the perfect instrument to track and monitor
cycling performance. The Polar S520 also utilises performance
training software to give you the most accurate feedback
and results. SonicLink, the very latest Polar Precision
Performance V4 training analysis SW and an option to
use Polar Cadence sensor mean this is a serious piece of
kit.

Owners Comments: The big difference between the S520
and the S710i / S720i is the memory capacity. The S520 can
only store 120 samples. You cannot set the sample rate.
It uses a process of sampling until it reaches 120 samples,
then it averages these out and starts sampling at double
the sample rate. What this means is that the S520 is great
for any exercise that lasts less than 1 hour, or does not
involve frequent intensity changes, i.e. a long steady ride
of several hours. The S710i / Polar S720i heart rate monitors
do have a preselectable sample rate, down to 5 seconds.
It can store 16,000 samples!! (that's 22 hours) in an unlimited

heart rate monitor with a very clear display and great
cycling / fitness functionality is proving a great
seller. Please consider this unit as an alternative
