monitor is an informed choice for the serious athlete. The Polar S610i
HRM stores exercise files for analysing and notable routines can also
be monitored. This model also utilises state of the art infrared technology
with a separately available Polar Infrared Interface for transferring
the training data to PC for further analysis by Polar Precision Performance
4.0 sw which comes along with this product
PLEASE NOTE. The new Polar RS400 / Polar RS400SD and Polar RS800 / Polar RS800SD are now available. Both of the new Polar RS series come with the superior Polar PPSW version 5 for high level training analysis and development of your own personalised training programme. Please consider these new units before purchasing the older Polar S610i unit as seen here. Loads of new features like the unique RUNNING INDEX . Remember, you can never add a FOOT POD to the Polar S610i, but you can to the Polar RS400 to upgrade it to the Polar RS400SD !!
The Polar RS800 and Polar RS800SD also includes an altimeter and new DIGITALLY coded Wearlink W I N D chest belt. The Polar RS800 range has the ability to support beat to beat heart rate analysis and R-R intervals. They can also be paired with the Polar S3 stride POD to give accurate running SPEED, PACE, LEG CADENCE (strides per minute) and STRIDE LENGTH.
The Polar S610i heart rate monitor is a powerful model designed for the
ultimate in sports performance. Incredible storage accuracy and memory
monitoring are unmatched and long periods of exercise can be checked for
future reference. It is specifically intended for in-depth performance
data and to compliment the work of trainers.
The big difference between the S410 heart monitor and the S610i heart
rate monitor is the memory capacity. The S410 can only store 120 samples.
You cannot set the sample rate. It uses a process of sampling until it
reaches 120 samples, then it averages these out and starts sampling at
double the sample rate. What this means is that the S410 is great for
any exercise that lasts less than 1 hour, or does not involve frequent
intensity changes. The S610i has a preselectable sample rate, down to
5 seconds. It can store 16,000 samples!! (that's 22 hours) in an unlimited

with all Win Operating Systems including Win XP ! -:
There
are many sites still selling the older stock that does NOT
work well with Win XP. Our Polar sourced Ir Wave USB ports
will work with Win XP systems, they say so on the package and
we've tested them. Polar do not guarantee that their units will
work with any third party IR ports. If price matching, please
make 100% certain that it is the very latest Win XP compatible
Ir Wave USB IR port.
The current
stock of Polar S610i come with Polar Precision Performance software
verion 4.0 with enhanced IR communication software for Win XP
on laptops with built in IR ports (IRDA devices) and the new USB
IrWave IR adaptor.. Also works on Win 95, 98, 2000, ME etc.
