Keep U Fit Programme
Guides you to reach your personal fitness goals.
The Polar Keeps U Fit - Own Workout Program gives you personal
guidance - how often, how hard, and how long you need to exercise
to reach your personal fitness goals.
The feature is included in the Polar F11 and F55alu Fitness Heart
Rate Monitors. In addition, the program can be used free of charge
in Polar Fitness Trainer web service. |
 |
Polar
Own Index Fitness Test
Measures
your fitness level in 5 minutes. A fitness test that measures
your aerobic/cardiovascular fitness at rest in just five minutes.
The result, Polar OwnIndex, predicts your maximal oxygen uptake
(VO2max). |
 |
Polar
Own Calorie
Counts and displays calorie expenditure.
The Polar OwnCal feature shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions.
You can set daily and weekly exercise goals in terms of calorie
expenditure with the OwnCal feature. Because the OwnCal tracks
both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the
accumulated kilocalories during a longer time e.g. one week, it
helps in achieving both short term and long term goals. |

Polar
Own Code
Prevents
cross-talk from other heart rate monitors. As more and more people
use heart rate monitors today, preventing cross talk from other
devices in group situations at the gym or when jogging with a
friend becomes essential. The unique coded technology blocks unwanted
signals from other heart rate monitors, ensuring disturbance-free
transmission of your heart rate data. |
Next
model down is the Polar
F55 with POLYURETHANE body.
The Polar F11 does NOT have the Body Workout programme.

With
the Keep U Fit programme the watch may prescribe, for example;
3 x sessions - 1 x long, low-medium intensity, 1 x medium duration,
medium intensity, 1 x hard and short. The watch will allow you to
select which one of these 3 you perform, or just a free, personally
controlled, exercise session. After 3 weeks of following the exercise
programme the unit will ask you to re-test your Fitness level and
then recalculate your next three weeks programme. It is an ongoing
cycle of exercise, monitor, test, prescribe, exercise, monitor, test
prescribe...... a great motivator.
With
the Body Workout programme the watch prescribes a body toning
programme with 10 x exercise movements, see below for a selection
of available movements. There are 17 different movements that the
user can add or remove to this programme at will. The maximum number
of movements per workout is 14 and you can only use a movement
once per workout (each movement can be repeated 1 - 3 times per set,
see below for definition of "a set")
The
programme does NOT allow the user to set more than 3 sets per
movement. The programme will select weights based on the users age,
sex and weight. The user can overwrite these weights. The programme
will generally recommend between 8 - 12 repetitions per movement per
set, the user can NOT change this setting
A
SET ? = a number of repitions per movement i.e 10 x biceps curls
repeated three times is 3 SETS of 10 REPETITIONS
