Why use a heart rate monitor and a pedometer?

A heart rate monitor is one of the most useful tools available to the exerciser to ensure that the training intensity and duration is right, not too hard or too short, but hard enough and long enough.

A pedometer can measure how far you have walked, or how many steps you have taken. It is believed that walking 10,000 steps per day is highly beneficial to your wellbeing and health.

PLEASE NOTE: The pedometer we are offering has a "calorie counter". Some of the HRM's we sell also have "calorie counters". Both types of units have consistent measuring formulae, however, it is possible that there will be a slight difference between the value of calories calculated on the pedometer if compared to the heart rate monitor figure. Generally, we would suggest the HRM may be the more accurate, however, as long as you remember both are very consistent measures you should not have a problem when comparing calories burnt from one session to the next, just use which ever unit you prefer to..
