Heart rate monitor comes with chest strap

The New Balance N5 heart rate monitor is analogue, that means it uses a frequency that is commonly used on treadmills and other popular pieces of gym equipment. This gives the advantage of being able to see your heart rate on the machine, as well as on your wrist.

There is only one downside to analogue transmission. If someone else is using a similar monitor, within 3 or 4 feet, you may pick up interference from their unit. Generally, this is not a huge issue, but it should be considered if most/all your time is spent training in a group with many other HRM users.
