Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS ~ Who's it for ?? Do you like things to be kept easy ? Do you like to simply pull on your training shoes [jump on your bike] and monitor ~ how hard you are working with regard to heart rate ~ how fast you are running [biking] ~ and how far you've been... then the Garmin Forerunner 110 is for you... It can also be used in non-GPS mode in the Gym to give heart rate derived calorie burn and heart rate control - SIMPLE !
What's the difference between this new Garmin Forerunner 110 and other Garmin Forerunner's out there?
The Garmin Forerunner 110 will NOT support the Foot POD or GSC10 bike speed / cadence sensor - the 405/405CX and 310XT all support these accessories. For most people just interested in RUN or BIKE or WALK speed when outside, this is not an issue. It is only for the SERIOUS athletes who want to know pedal cadence and might also want bike speed when indoors (on rollers) or run speed on a treadmill
It's considerably smaller than the Forerunner 310XT, 305 and 405/CX models - it will fit ALL USERS
In summary, they've taken all the ESSENTIAL features from the other models and dropped the overly technical features. As soon as we've tested on, we'll give a more thorough report. If you want accurate and discrete heart rate monitoring with SPEED, DISTANCE and PACE while out running / riding / walking, then it's for you.
Key Features
- Heart Rate based calories calculation (can be used in gym when not monitoring speed / distance)
- Simple 3 line display with TWO views [Distance ~ Stopwatch ~ Pace/Speed] or [Distance ~ Heart Rate ~ Pace/Speed]
- Time of Day - Date - Daily alarm
- Auto Lap - user can set watch to alert every ONE mile or every ONE kilometre, and store split / lap data in memory.
If there is one word that describes this new member of the Garmin Forerunner range of GPS heart rate monitors it is SMALL.... We've always made excuses for the size of all previous models and realise that it's previous size has put people off in the past. No more ~ this new high sensitivity Garmin Forerunner 110 does everything 90% of recreational / competitive runners, cyclists and exercise enthusiasts want (with PC download option to Garmin Connect)
NOTE : There is NO DIFFERENCE between the size of the wrists units ~ PINK / GREY / REB/BLACK - they are ALL the same size. It is JUST the colours that differ. Our most popular unit is the GREY UNISEX unit with an UPGRADE to the PREMIUM Garmin Heart Rate strap

Let nothing get in the way of you and your run. The easy-to-use Forerunner® 110 sports watch tells you how far and how fast. It’s GPS-enabled to accurately record your time, pace, distance and calories burned (based on HEART RATE - so can be used in gym as a "normal HRM"). It also comes with a heart rate monitor and provides heart rate-based calorie computations to help you track your calories burned. There’s no setup required, so you can just press start and run or walk with it. Once your workout’s done, upload to Garmin Connect™ to store and share your data, see the route you travelled on a map and even create goals.
GPS-enabled training device
Records time, average pace and distance
High sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix™ (gets the signal quicker and more accurately)
USB interface, compatible with Garmin Connect™ online Garmin performance monitoring software.
Download data from both PC (Win 2000 or newer) and MAC (OS 10.4.11 or later, Intel based Power PC G4)
Water resistant ~ it is basically SPLASH / SHOWER proof - ok if you drop it in the water or wear it while raining - but NOT swim proof - if you want SWIM PROOF, it must be Garmin FR60 or Forerunner 310XT
Automatic Time Zone
Rechargeable lithium ion battery: up to 8 hours when training; 2 weeks in power save mode
Wirelessly connects to heart rate monitor (grey/pink and black/red come with HR strap ~ grey does not)
Heart rate-based calorie computation ~ this is an improvement over other Forerunners (305 / 405) which have a formula based on speed, distance etc ~ without a consideration for EFFORT (i.e. Heart Rate)
