Garmin Edge 605 - in stock now !!
BHIP Ltd - quick review : Straight out of the box, the new Garmin Edge 605 is ready for work. It comes with a basic, but essential, European Base Map. What this means is that you have all major motorways, "A" roads and most significant "B" roads. Just locate the destination where you want to ride, click with the pointer, and select "Go To" via "road" and the unit will generate a TURN by TURN route map for you. It's that easy... we had it up and running in less than 5 minutes.
INCREASE your mapping capabilites : We are also pleased to supply the official GARMIN CITY NAVIGATOR Street Map software for the whole of Europe for only £74.99 (Garmin srp is £79.99). This software is supplied on a MicroSD card for direct installation in to your Garmin Edge 605/705. This enhanced software offers far greater detail than the BASE MAP supplied with the unit. What the difference between the Garmin EDGE 605 and Garmin EDGE 705? : The Garmin Edge 605 does NOT have the capability to support HEART RATE or PEDAL CADENCE. It is NOT an optional add on. Also, the Garmin Edge 705 has a BAROMETRIC pressure sensor giving more accurate altitude variation during climbs and ascents. The Garmin Edge 605 relies on GPS for it's altitude data.
Navigate Your Ride with the Garmin Edge 605
Lose yourself in the ride without losing your way. Garmin Edge 605 comes with a built-in basemap, plus it has a microSD card slot for adding map detail and storing workouts, courses and saved rides. Just plug in optional, detailed MapSource® City Navigator® street maps on a preloaded data card and get turn-by-turn directions on a sunlight-readable, color display as you pedal. Add optional topo mapping for your off-road adventures. Edge snaps easily into the included bike mount to guide you to your destination.
Get the Data You Need with the Garmin Edge 605
The rugged Garmin Edge 605 automatically measures your speed, distance, time, calories burned and altitude. For even more detailed data, get Garmin Edge 705, which can track your heart rate, cadence, power (from optional ANT + Sport™-enabled third-party power meters), climb and descent. Both feature a high-sensitivity receiver that holds a signal under trees and near tall buildings and have a click stick for easy screen navigation. - Auto Pause® pauses the timer when you slow down or stop and resumes when you speed up again, so you can focus on your ride.
- Auto Lap® automatically starts a new lap each time you pass a specified location or travel a preset distance.
