CICLOSPORT, with their aim of introducing innovative products to the sporting world, have achieved a world’s first once again with the Cardio Training Security System. The CTS System is the world’s first fitness group digital heart rate monitoring system and allows up to 20 individual heart rates to be measured and displayed on a PC or laptop to the instructor during aerobics, spinning or other group fitness training sessions. The display shows individual heart rates and by means of a colour coded warning system, the instructor is able to personally coach individual group members and ensure they remain in the correct heart rate zone for their fitness levels and training objectives.

The major points to note about the CTS System are:
  • The CTS System is the world’s first digital heart rate monitoring system for use by fitness groups.
  • The CTS System can monitor up to 20 individual heart rates per system.
  • Each member of the training group wears the sleek, comfortable digital transmitter chest strap from the CICLOPuls range (compatible with the CP23 and CP29 CICLOSPORT heart rate monitors).
  • The range of the CTS System is 7 metres, in any direction, from receiver to chest transmitter enabling the class to spread out if required (such as for aerobics or spinning classes).
  • The CTS System’s digital receiver interfaces with a PC or laptop running on Windows 95, 98 or NT.
  • The CTS System is 100% interference free resulting in extremely accurate heart rate readings.
  • The CTS display shows all individual heart rates and gives a colour coded indication showing whether the individuals are below (Blue) within (Green) or above (Red) the entered heart rate zone (specific to each individual). If an individual's heart rate rises to above 92% of their maximum, the relevant square on the display will flash yellow/red as a warning to the instructor.
  • The fitness instructor is able to provide ‘on the spot’ coaching and advice to those taking part in the group training session.
  • The CTS System allows the fitness instructor to keep an eye on those who need to stay within a specific heart rate zone.
  • Individuals can leave the class for up to 20 minutes and return without having to be scanned back into the system – the CTS System will automatically sense that they have returned and ‘log’ them on to the session once again.

The session can be printed (in colour) and/or saved and retrieved later for graphical comparison. At any time during the session, the instructor can call up and display an individual's 'time-in-zone' info (in the form of a bar graph showing the % in each zone). Files can be saved as CTS or Excel files.

Setting Up - The process of setting up involves typing in the names and desired heart rates into the PC/Laptop and then scanning the individual straps into the system.

Price - The price of a CTS System including the digital receiver, PC Interface, software, 10 digital chest transmitters and straps and a CICLOSPORT carrying case is £1375 plus VAT.

SUMMARY - The CTS System is the world’s first digital heart rate monitoring system for fitness groups and will be seen in the UK’s leading Health and Fitness Centres and Clubs, enabling instructors to deliver a more directed and personalised form of training than was ever possible before.
